Play Up Proper
August 23, 2007
One of Miss Francesca's closest friends, Brigitte, runs a
well-known design firm in Paris. From time to time she
arrives in New York to meet with her local clients. She is as
graceful and lovely as Miss Francesca, with her own style that
is a bit more proper. Her long brown hair is always perfectly
smoothed into a chignon; her signature pencil skirts are worn
with dainty heels. As she walks around her Manhattan
pied-a-terre, briskly creating design boards for presentation,
the scent of Chanel delicately follows her.
Over the years, she has perfected how to inject some fun and
fancy into her otherwise conservative attire. She pairs those
chignons and pencil skirts with the most beautifully cut
blouses. When I saw her last, she had done it again,
integrating this season's voluminous trend into her wardrobe
with a collection of bell and puff sleeved tops.
It was the most proper decision to make.
