A Weekend at the Beach

Miss Francesca introduced me to the official East Coast
summer. I grew up elsewhere and had never stepped off the
island of Manhattan once I arrived in New York. I knew only
of humid city summers with hot sidewalks and dashes into
Central Park for some afternoon shade. It was Miss
Francesca's invitation to an East Hampton clambake that
showed me how lovely the summer here can be.
I packed my weekend bag with a pair of white clam diggers
and seersucker waders, ideal for walking the beach each
morning. I found this cap-sleeved tee the perfect
accompaniment, with its pretty hand-screened shell charm
necklace. I danced along the sand all weekend, as giddy as a
5-year-old, with the sea shells and soft breezes as my
companions.
