A Cold & Blustery Day

One cold and blustery day, Miss Francesca suggested we
meet for a warm drink at 64th and Lexington. As I cradled
my fragrant cup of hot chocolate in my hands and awaited her
arrival, I wondered what she would wear on such a gray day.
I didn’t have to wait long to find out. She entered the café
with her usual flair-- one that can only be described as
fabulous. She emerged as she closed her umbrella, and the
café brightened with her cornflower blue trench, worn
perfectly with caramel-colored boots and accented with a
navy plaid scarf at her neck.
“Lauren!” she exclaimed with a smile, “Is it ever cold out
there. We must drink tea all afternoon!”
And we did, as I dreamed of how I might make a presence as
lovely as hers.
