A Life of Luxury

I once complained to Miss Francesca that I didn't have the
funds for all of the luxurious things we would see in the
windows on Fifth Avenue. I even divulged that it sometimes
left me pretty disheartened.
"But, Lauren, " she explained, "we aren't window-shopping to
buy; we're just looking for inspiration."
And then she had me point out all of my favorite pieces in the
windows. I admired a cap-sleeved blouse that evoked the
femininity of the 1940's, a heavenly diamond cocktail ring,
and a pair of black pumps dolled up with delicate lace.
"So now the fun begins," she declared, "Go find the ones
that do fit your funds."
And I think I did a splendid job.
