"I received my first holiday party invitation today," I told
Miss Francesca with excitement as we admired the window
dressings at Henri Bendel.
"Oh, darling, that's so fabulous," Miss Francesca replied.
"Can you believe it's already time to plan our line-up of
holiday party dresses?"
I stopped at the corner and gave the candied peanut vendor
the last cash in my wallet. "I'm keeping it simple this year," I
vowed. "I'll count on accessories to make a statement."
"Thank you, Coco, " Miss Francesca remarked, referring to
Chanel's introduction of the little black dress. "What would a
girl have done without your fashion genius?"
