A Gray Affair

"You must have received the memo that gray is this season's
color," my roommate, Audrey, teased when I met her at The
Carlyle for a drink after work. I smiled and twirled in front of
her, showing off my charcoal sheath and gray tights.
"I'm hooked already," I confessed, pushing across the table
the stack of fashion magazines that we share, each one touting
the praises of gray for fall.
Gray has the magical ability to look elegant when done in
head to toe or dramatic when paired with a red accessory or
royal blue shoe. Of course, another fall trend - plaid - blends
in so nicely. Not to mention metallic jewelry and flats!
We ordered our favorite cheese gougeres and sunk into the
cozy banquette.
"As long as your mood's not gray,"Audrey remarked, "then
you'll look smashing."
