Layer Cake

As a child, my mother taught me early on to layer my clothes.
She may have not realized it at the time, but this advice
would become a favorite of mine, especially when I leave my
apartment early in the morning and don't know where the
long day will take me.
Lately, I have found myself adding very long-sleeve knit
shirts to my closet. These have become a mandatory basic
for me. They'll be pretty on their own when the weather
warms, but for now they keep me toasty when layered under
collared-shirts at work or tees on the weekend.
Adding a cropped jacket is the icing on the cake.
